Up There is back with their friends from Japan for another ASICS collaboration! This time they've taken the cult-classic GEL-Lyte III and infused it with some Aussie humour.

Building off the first ASICS GT-II 'sense of place' theme they turned to nature again for more inspiration. This time up there looked to one of the most iconic birds of Australia; the Kookaburra. The sound of a Kookaburra's laugh immediately transports any Australian back home, no matter how long you've been away. We used the colours of this scruffy larrikin to create a fun-loving concept that's reminiscent of the shoes which got us into sneakers decades ago.

Up there used plenty of premium materials along with archival-inspired patterns and details to fuse the Kookaburra's story with sneaker history. The result is a shoe rich with references that doesn't take itself too seriously.
